A Holistic Approach to Psychotherapy
ABOUT ME
EXPERIENCE
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed by the State of Missouri. I have over 30 years of experience working with clients whose issues range from everyday stressors (divorce, grief, relationships, career) to major life disruptions (addictions, phobias, anxiety) to serious mental disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, developmental trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, and DID). My clinical specialties include sexual abuse, trauma, women's issues, spirituality exploration, and addictions. I taught as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Counseling Program at Lindenwood University for 16 years and retired from teaching at the end of 2018.

EDUCATION
I obtained a BS in Counseling from Metropolitan State University at their Institute for the Study of Drugs, Alcohol and Addictive Behaviors in Denver, Colorado. I earned a Masters in Counseling from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. I have extensive training in treating trauma, PTSD and DID. I am trained in EMDR, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, hypnotherapy, and ego states therapy. I received my certification as an addiction counselor in Colorado.
COUNSELING ENTERPRISES
I am the founder of Creve Coeur Counseling, LLC. and the co-founder of Creve Coeur Counseling Associates, the Creve Coeur Counseling Institute, Creve Coeur Community Counseling and Sarah's Circle Retreats for Women. In December 2014 I pared back my responsibilities and retired from the Creve Coeur Counseling enterprises and left them in the capable hands of my co-founder, Nancy Golden, LPC. At that time, I established Lotus Counseling, a smaller private practice that is a better fit for me as I enter semi-retirement. This allows me to focus more on my work with counseling clients, which is my true passion, and less on business management.
